Doug Koomson coaching a client through a dumbbell row in a sunlit gym

A small project, on purpose

Doug Koomson has trained people around Oakville for eleven years, in a gym and in clients’ homes, with a kinesiology degree behind him. His clients find him by word of mouth, and some of them now train with him as a family.

Doug is a friend of ours, and we kept his project small on purpose. It went through the same four steps as every project we take on: identity, strategy, expression and build, each one sized to a one-person business.

What we found first

Almost nobody finds him cold

People who look Doug up have usually been told by a client or a friend, “you should train with Doug,” and the website he had then was written for corporate wellness.

Is this the guy my friend told me about?

His clients had already answered that. Four of them had written about training with him, and all four described someone who adjusts around your body and your life. One of them said Doug pushes him “without ever feeling like a drill sergeant about it.” We built the brand on their words, so the site could back up what the friend said.

Built for the people his clients send

We started with three words to build from: attentive, invested and down-to-earth. From there came a name with his own in it, Koomson Health & Wellness, and a redraw of the star he already had.

A five-page website in his own photographs, with his prices on the page. Behind it, the systems: a short form to book a free first call, a waiver clients sign online and an email address in his own name, each one reaching his inbox, and his Google profile brought up to date.

So far

“It feels like me.”

Doug said it when he saw the preview of his site.

It went live on September 26, 2026, two weeks after he filled in our questionnaire, and his old web address now forwards to it. It’s too early to say what it brings in.
