The company had changed hands

Jon Hopkin worked at Magic Brush Painting for four years before he took it over, with more than twenty-two years in the trade behind him. His crew paints for high-end builders on the Big Island and the property managers who look after those homes, including work at Kohanaiki and the Fairmont Orchid.

The brand still looked like the company Jon had taken over. Builders who’d worked with him knew how good the crew was, and someone finding Magic Brush for the first time had only the old website to go on.

What we found first

Painting you don’t have to worry about

The promise was already in how Jon runs the work, and he puts it plainly on his own site.

“They know we’re gonna answer. They know we’re gonna be there when we say. They know we’re gonna do the job.”

For a homeowner that’s peace of mind. For a builder it’s a painter who makes them look good, and for a property manager it’s one less thing to check on. We built the brand on that promise, in his words.

Built from how Jon works

A new mark, a mountain in one deep blue, drawn by our designer to hold up small, down to the circle on a Google profile. Beside it, a twelve-page website, with wood refinishing, the crew’s specialty, given a page of its own.

Behind it, the systems: estimate requests that reach Jon by email, a simple way to ask clients for reviews and answer them, and his Google Business Profile rebuilt and kept current, so people searching for a painter around Kona can find him.

Result

Now people can find him

Search “Magic Brush Painting” in May 2026 and its website wasn’t in the first thirty results. By September the company was the first map result in Kona, and its website was the first one listed.

On Google Maps for “painter near me,” it was in the top three at 21 of the 26 places we checked around Kona in late September, up from 1 of 26 in August.
